At this stage, it is most likely going to contain 10 new tracks. I had originally planned to put 12 tracks on the album, but as the songs have been completed, it seems apparent that 10 of the tracks flow together the best and seem like the right combination for the album. I have done pre production for most of the tracks. I have a few to finish off and then will begin work laying down all the parts and adding the fine details of production etc. I’m pretty excited about it!

I’ve been busy promoting the album and even more busy working on the next one. I’m working on a new album that will have 12 tracks and will come out some time next year. I’m pretty excited about it and it’s starting to consume my every thought. It’s back to the early morning rises and long hours in front of the computer. I’ve pretty much written all 12 songs already and I guess you could say I’m in the pre-production stage. Whatever that means. Anyway, more updates soon. Peace.

I have had a really good response to Cordial Girl so that song will definitely be on the agenda. There are a few other tunes I’d like to put video clips to and I have some cool ideas floating around. There are many options so I wouldn’t mind giving a few of them a go and seeing which option produces the best result. I might even buy a nice camera for myself and see what I can come up with. There are a lot of great resources out there. The challenge is finding the time to connect with them all. It would be nice to some day compile a list of every website that is worth contacting. It would save a lot of running around in circles. Things seem a lot more complicated than they used to be. We live in an age where there is effectively an unlimited amount of musical styles and combinations to choose from and use. While this is obviously a great thing from a creative stand point, it makes the task of “define your music in a few short words” quite a bit harder. Not only do previously simple categories like ‘rock’ and ‘electro’ now serve as an umbrella for a whole range of sub-genres, there seems to be an endless number of hybrid genres appearing every day. Ironically, now that there are so many options, defining one’s music has never been harder. I think I might just settle for pop-rock-electro-alternative-jazz-progressive-metal-goth…. What do you think? If you have any ideas, please let me know ;-)

I played guitar since I was 6 and because my Dad played, I always had someone to look up to. My first experiences with programming music were done on a Commodore 64. There was a program on there that allowed you to notate music and I used to go nuts programming the guitar parts that I already knew how to play. I would have only been about 7 at the time. My dad used to play music in a duo at bars/restaurants and would spend time making backing tracks to use in performances. We eventually upgraded to an IBM and I would spend hours transcribing the drums/bass/keys etc to pop songs that I liked, in an attempt to copy my Dad. This gave me a good foundation for hearing all the different parts that make up a song. It also taught me a lot about orchestrating sounds and programming music in general.
